Monica Kim is a mixed media artist based in NYC. She uses texture, layers and color to create intimate and tactile pieces. Her process is the repetition of small actions: the cutting of pieces of fabric and paper, the hand stitches that bring them together, the writing of a single word or phrase repeatedly. What results is both variety and uniformity, similar to what we find in nature and in the pattern of our days.
